Castle Charity Ball 2023
Castle Charity Ball is one of University College's annual flagship events. The lead organiser is the Castle MCR Ball Chair (an elected position on the Executive Committee) who is supported by the Castle MCR Ball Committee (a team of enthusiastic and creative Castle MCR Members)
The Ball Chair for 2022-23 is Anran Geng.
The Vice Ball Chair for 2022-23 is Katie Bertram.

Castle Charity Ball 2023
Join us on June 3rd for 'Once Upon A Time' as we celebrate your favourite childhood fairy tales. Explore a fairy meadow, meet gallant knights, and face the wicked dragon! The evening will be packed with food, drinks, adventure, and entertainment until 2:00 am.
This year we are delighted for you to 'Be Our Guest' with an enchanting range of live musical stylings headlined by the ABBA Tribute Band, exhilarating swing boat rides, heart stopping feats of arms by the Knights of Vanguard re-enactment, mouth-watering provisions including Fat Hippo, an electrifying Shrek themed music hour, an amazing Disney animal sidekicks petting zoo, and much much more!
Ticket Info
We offer two types of tickets: Dining and Ents.
A Dining Ticket includes:

Complimentary alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink at a welcome reception.

Luxurious three-course meal in the Durham Castle Great Hall (menu will be announced soon, but all dietary requirements can be catered for).

Access to a range of entertainment, live acts, photography (and lots more!) from arrival time (approx. 6 pm) to finish (2 am) across the Castle!
An Ents Ticket Includes

- £75 for Castle MCR Members

Students from all colleges are welcome to attend! Even though this is a postgraduate run ball, undergraduates are welcome! You will be asked for your college affiliation upon sign up.
The menu for dinner is listed on the sign-up page. You will be asked for your meal choice and dietary requirements at a later date. Table groups and drink preferences will also be collected at a later date.
Tickets are in high demand. Be sure to mark your calendars to sign up quickly!
Priority
Tickets will be allocated for both dining and ents on a first come, first served basis, with Castle MCR members getting a 48-hour early access

(Note: We will be checking names used for ticket purchases. Anyone who purchases an Early Access ticket without Castle MCR membership will be banned from the ball)

Guests
The max number of guest spots when applying for a dining ticket is: 1 guest (+£92).
The max number of guest spots when applying for an ents ticket is: 3 guests (+£59 per guest).
Guests can be either Durham University students/staff or non-Durham University affiliated (which will be asked on the form when applying for guests).
Sign-up Info
There are two sign-up forms, one for Dining Tickets and one for Ents Tickets.
Make sure you select the correct form when signing up.
The sign-up forms are through Pay.Durham, and will open at 12:00 (noon) on Monday, March 13th, for Castle MCR members and at 12:00 (noon) on Wednesday, March 15th, for all other guests! We are expecting incredibly high demand for all ticket types, though especially dining, so please be prepared to sign up quickly to avoid disappointment! Once tickets have sold out, you will have the option to add your name to a waitlist should more tickets become available.
If you are a Durham University student, please ensure you are logged in to your Pay.Durham account. Please ensure your information, especially your email address, is correct, so you can receive all the important details about the ball.
You should receive an email confirmation from Pay.Durham as soon as your payment method has gone through. Please keep this email for reference.
Ticket Links
The ticket purchase links will go live at exactly 12:00 (noon) on Monday, March 13th for Castle MCR members and 12:00 (noon) on Wednesday, March 15th for everyone else.

Designated Charities Partners
This year our chosen charities are Castle Community Action (CCA) and Rainbow Trust Children's Charity.
We are proud that we will be donating 100% of the ball profits between these two charitable causes equally. We are also fundraising by encouraging attendees and others to donate to increase our total donation amount.
